The trial of the US soldier accused of feeding classified documents to WikiLeaks is being delayed, the judge in the case said Sunday.

Pfc. Bradley Manning’s trial was set to begin Feb. 4.

But Military judge Col. Denise Lind said pretrial proceedings will push the start date back to sometime in March, The Associated Press reported.

Specifically, attorneys are arguing over Manning’s pretrial confinement.

Manning, 24, has been behind bars since his arrest in Baghdad in May 2010 on suspicion of being responsible for the largest leak of state secrets in US history, The Guardian reported.

His attorneys are trying to get the charges thrown out, claiming Manning’s imprisonment to date has amounted to enough punishment.

In a hearing Friday, prosecutors contended that Manning never complained about his treatment during weekly visits with unit officers over a nine-month period, CNN reported.
