A former intern for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan was arrested Tuesday for stalking and blackmailing young women online to obtain nude photos of them, authorities said.
FBI agents arrested 21-year-old Adam Savader at his home in Great Neck, NY on charges that he illegally obtaining nude pictures of 15 women and threatening to make them public unless the women sent him more naked pictures of themselves.
“Adam Paul Savader sent anonymous text messages using Google Voice numbers to 15 women stating that he had nude photographs of the women and threatening to distribute the nude photographs to the women’s friends and family members unless the women sent him more nude photographs of themselves,” the FBI said in a press release.
“Savader sent some of the victims links to a photo-sharing website where nude pictures of the victims had been posted.”
Most of the women were people Savader knew from his hometown on Long Island and in Washington DC.
An FBI complaint against Savader details how far he went to threaten the women into sending him more photos.
“I swear on all that is holy. If you f*ck with me again I will send these to your parents. I have no problem sending them to ur [sic] parents, friends and sorority sisters unless you cooperate by answering me,” he allegedly told one woman, according to the FBI complaint.
The accusations were first brought to the attention of the FBI from the Ann Arbor, Michigan police department after a woman contacted them saying she received threatening messages from someone who illegally obtained nude photos of her from her email account.
Savader is currently in federal custody in New York and is expected to be transported to Michigan.
