Report: Saudi Arabia Hid Knowledge Of Saudi Students In U.S. Who Joined ISIS

Saudi citizens have studied in the U.S. for years - but a new report states that approximately 400 of them have left the country after arrival to join terrorist groups like ISIS. There is evidence that both Saudi and U.S. officials knew of this issue for some time, but refused to do anything about it.

WASHINGTON, D.C.– A newly released investigative report from the Institute for Gulf Affairs (IGA) based in Washington, D.C. details what they have referred to as “one of the biggest terrorist threats against the United States homeland.”

The report “From American College Campuses to ISIS Camps: How Hundreds of Saudis Joined ISIS in the U.S.” describes how Saudi nationals living in the U.S. have left to join internationally-recognized terrorist groups like Daesh (ISIS) and al-Nusra in large numbers – a fact that was known to top Saudi government officials but was intentionally never shared with the U.S. government.

The investigation found that approximately 400 Saudi and Kuwaiti citizens who were living in the United States – most of whom were studying abroad on Saudi government-issued scholarships – later left to join terrorist groups. Many of them are U.S.-Saudi dual citizens who were born in the U.S. while their parents studied abroad.

The figures given in the report assert that Saudi nationals comprise the largest number of U.S. residents who have left to join terrorist groups fighting in nations like Syria and Iraq. In general, Saudi citizens constitute the largest foreign nationality within Daesh and the group itself is known to receive large amounts of funding from prominent Saudis, as well as the Saudi government itself.

Watch General Dempsey Testify Before Congress in 2016 that the U.S.’ “Major Arab Allies” fund Daesh:

Saudi government officials actively colluded to hide this information from U.S. authorities, as well as obfuscated the ties that some of its citizens had to radical groups prior to their entrance into the United States. The report names several Saudi officials who knew of such Saudis living in the U.S., including Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef and Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir.

It also notes that the Saudi government possesses “one of the most sophisticated systems” for tracking the movements of its citizens between countries, including mandatory fingerprint verification for all citizens who receive government services. The government has been known to deny services to citizens for offenses as minor as unpaid traffic tickets. Clearly, the Saudi Interior Ministry was aware of Saudi students living in the U.S. and elsewhere who abandoned their scholarships to take up arms with Daesh and similar groups.

But in addition to the silence from Saudi Arabia concerning the issue, several U.S. officials – who were informed well in advance by the IGA of the growing number of Saudi nationals within the U.S. who had joined Daesh’s ranks – failed to act on the information once informed. The report states that the FBI failed to notice the trend of Saudi nationals leaving the U.S. to join terrorist groups, a failure that the report’s author Ali al-Ahmed told MintPress News was likely due to negligence.

In April 2014, the report notes that IGA representatives met with two FBI special agents, as well as Obama administration official George Slim, to share information regarding the troubling phenomenon. However, Slim and the agents became unreachable following the meeting.

The close personal relationship of former CIA Director John Brennan to the Saudi monarchy, as well as the fact that former FBI director Louis Freeh was paid nearly $1 million to represent a Saudi official in an international corruption case, were cited as possible reasons for the Obama administration’s lack of interest in pursuing the issue. Neither the FBI nor the White House ever shared the information with the State Department, which was unaware of the issue until IGA contacted them in May prior to the report’s release.

One example of the U.S. State Department’s apparent lack of knowledge regarding the connections Saudi nationals have to terrorist groups was its issuance of a visa to Saudi cleric Saad al-Durihim in 2016. al-Durihim is an open supporter of Daesh and al-Nusra who once urged Daesh to massacre Shiite women and children in Iraq and called for the U.S. to fall prey to Saudi Wahhabists.

Despite al-Durihim’s ties to the two groups, he was allowed entrance to the United States in December 2016 to attend his son’s graduation ceremony at Shawnee State University in Ohio. His son, Yaser al-Durihim, was permitted to study in the U.S., despite his father’s ties to extremist groups.

Saad al-Durihim US graduation - Saudi terror

Ultimately, the report warns that the lack of vetting for Saudi nationals entering the U.S. presents a threat to U.S. security, given the trends it details.

If Saudi nationals who leave the U.S. end up joining Daesh and returning to the U.S. – a real possibility, given the near non-existent vetting and the dual citizenship of many of these individuals – Daesh’s presence in the United States would certainly increase. But with the U.S. government’s refusal to recognize the Saudi government as a major sponsor of global terror, the U.S.’ “special relationship” with Saudi Arabia may once again continue to take priority over national security.

Why is anyone surprised about the Saudis and the terrorists??? The Saudi “royal” family are not Muslims, they are Jews and their cult or sect of Wahhabism is not Islamic but a peculiar form of Judaism with a covering of Islam. It ismuchlike the leadership of Turkey – mostly Jewish, and has been for a long time.

The Semtici Jews originated in Yemen and the Southern Arabian desert. They never ever inhabited Canaan or Palestasine or Canaan. Read “The Bible Unearthed.” by Israel Finkelsein. Watch the Youtube video “The Walls Come Tumblin’ Down.” and read “Egypt Knew No Pharaohs or Israelites.”

Some perspective on the Sun’ni extremism embraced by the House of Sa’ud: Salafist and Wa’habi terrorism.

      * * *

      * The infiltration of this ideology is reminiscent of the spread of communism and should be defeated similarly — not with weapons, but by exposing its true nature and providing an alternative. The West first must abandon, however, the notion that radical Islam is an internal Muslim issue, any more than communism was a “Russian issue” that “the Russians” needed to solve.

      * In addition, the views of liberal Muslim scholars, who reject the whole premise of extremist, political Islam, should be supported and widely circulated.

      * Finally, imams in Western countries must be held to the same standard as members of other professions. They should be required to receive occupational licenses, based on criteria determined by the state, in conjunction with modern Muslims seeking a peaceful life and the ability to integrate into their societies without fear of repercussions at the hands of fundamentalists.

      * * *

Many imams in the West — citizens of the United States, Canada and other countries — use their pulpits to promote practices that go against democratic values and ultimately lead to terrorism.

Some call on their flock to kill Jews, Christians and “infidel” Muslims who do not adhere either to the strictest interpretation of Islam. Others justify the marriage of grown men to nine-year-old girls. There are those, too, who defend the spousal “right” of husbands to rape their wives.

Contrary to some claims, the type of clerics who preach murder and sexual abuse in North American and European mosques do not suffer from poor socioeconomic conditions and are not mentally unbalanced. Rather, they are loyal followers of an interpretation of Islam that envisions the establishment of a worldwide caliphate governed by sharia law. They deeply believe that the only way to enter Allah’s paradise is to live by the letter of the Quran and the Hadith (the words and deeds of the Prophet Muhammed).

It is from such imams, most of whom are graduates of renowned Islamic institutions in the Middle East and Asia, that Muslims in the West have been receiving guidance. Key among these institutions is Al-Azhar, a Cairo-based Sunni center for higher learning, attended by students from all over the world. Its curriculum includes extremist content, such as tenets that killing “apostates” is a Divine obligation; that it is a Muslim’s duty to humiliate female prisoners through sexual abuse; that adulterers should be stoned to death, and that Christians and Jews are the “enemy of God.”

Whenever confronted by critics in the West calling them to task for spreading such violent teachings, many imams respond by cloaking their real objectives, saying that the texts should be read in the context of the time that they were written, and by highlighting peaceful and tolerant Quranic verses. Other clerics — those who do not know how to tailor their rhetoric to Western ears — openly admit their religious ideology’s true intentions.

The infiltration of this ideology is reminiscent of the spread of communism and should be defeated similarly — not with weapons, but by exposing its true nature and providing an alternative. The West first must abandon, however, the notion that radical Islam is an internal Muslim issue, any more than communism was a “Russian issue” that “the Russians” needed to solve.

Islam and Muslims are part and parcel of Western societies, and Islamist terrorism is a global problem.

In addition, the views of liberal Muslim scholars, who reject the whole premise of extremist, political Islam, should be supported and widely circulated. Among these are prominent intellectuals — such as the late Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd from Egypt; Mohammed Arkoun, an Algerian who died in France in 2010; the late Egyptian Supreme Court justice Muhammad Sa’id al-‘Ashmawi; Egyptian talk-show host Islam Bahiri; and the late Sudanese theologian Mahmoud Muhammad Taha — all of whom have provided evidence, based on knowledge of the Quran and Hadith, that the “caliphate” is merely a project to colonize more land, as all the old empires did, and that the hostility toward Jews connected to the Muhammed’s battle with the Banu Qurayza in the 7th century should have ended long ago.

Muslim innovators abound in the West, as well, and should be the ones establishing mosques, educational institutions and media outlets, to provide followers with an alternative to political Islamism. Finally, imams in Western countries must be held to the same standard as members of other professions. They should be required to receive occupational licenses, based on criteria determined by the state, in conjunction with modern Muslims seeking a peaceful life and the ability to integrate into their societies without fear of repercussions at the hands of fundamentalists.

Nothing pained me more than seeing Indonesia vote out the Christian Governor in Jakarta and then convict him of blasphemy because he made POSITIVE comments about Islam by claiming the Koran did NOT require Muslims to vote against him.

So much for the “World’s largest Muslim democracy” being “peaceful and tolerant.”

      • Всеки Нищо

The House of al Saud care about their throne not Islam. We all will fight Wahabi thinkers and we will won. We have to learn how to love each other and live in peace all together.

And yet you claim to oppose Sun’ni jahadists. . .

The article is written by a Muslim OPPOSED to the Jihadists you CLAIM to support.

You lie, you lie, you lie. . .

          • tapatio

There’s plenty of HONEST material implicating the Jews’ puppets on the Arabian Peninsula, without some Heeb propaganda organ.

            • James Wherry

The material was quite honest and very revealing about al-Azar and what they teach.

              • tapatio

Either Fox News or the average Jew might state that the world is (m/l) round. I’m not going to quote either of those sources of prevarication simply because they, for once, found the truth to be convenient.

                • James Wherry

How fortunate we are to have highly accurate publications like Gatestone Institute. Unlike you and others, Gatestone continues to call for the release of Shi’ite political prisoners in Sa’udi Arabia and is not afraid to call out those crimes.

    • James Wherry

This “news” story leaves the subject unclear. I certainly AGREE 100% that the Wa’habi doctrine that espouses hatred of all non-Sun’ni’s – Jews, Christians, Atheists, Yazidi, Ba’hai, Ahmadyia, Shi’ites, etc. – is disgusting and is directly responsible for violence against people in those groups. President Trump should have directly confronted that bigotry and violence, when he visited Arabia.

But the mere fact that Arab students studied in the U.S. and LATER left for ISIS does not impress me. There are U.S. and European citizens that have joined ISIS and other terrorist organizations in Syria. Some have joined because of the evil of Bashir al-Assad and a mis-guided effort to join these evil groups to destroy him.

      • Norm

BTW, stunning new revelations about tapatio…

Turns out his burning hatred of Jews and gays stems from a single incident in his youth, when his domineering mother with whom he had a peculiar close relationship as an adolescent found out about his secret love affair with a Jewish boy his age and ordered him to stop seeing his boyfriend.. https://disqus.com/home/discussion/mintpressnews/former_icc_official_israel_will_be_convicted_of_war_crimes/#comment-3342029129

Moreover, I’ve just learned from someone who worked at the FBI that tapatio’s mother was a spy, investigated by the FBI for passing missile technology secrets in the late 1950s to Israel, no less… Hence his hatred of America and desire to see Israel destroyed.

        • James Wherry

Wow. Nothing else to say: Mind Blown.

          https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/a3bcc55a87ba5edc679214164359d93ffd46ae9916d6e20f95ca0fde1a0b77fd.jpg

Now you HAVE to know who this clown is. I’m not asking you to share his home address or phone number with me, but a NAME is useful for many reasons. Time to shut this Hitlarian down. Think about how much of a service you’ll be doing for MintPressNews!

I’m going to post my Email address once and then delete it.

          • Norm

Well, since I’m, in principle, for net privacy and against doxing (unless a criminal or terrorist threat is involved) I prefer to keep his name and exact address confidential for now, except for generally pointing out that it’s on Bainbridge Island, WA.

As for his numerous attempts to harass and dox you, I believe Disqus has specific rules against it and a mechanism by which this can be reported, if you so choose to do so (complaining to MintPress would obviously be hopeless in his case..) But I’ve never tried it myself and don’t know how responsive they are, if at all. However, keep in mind that he operates under various sock-puppets so this may not stop him, in any case.

Also, I’m not sure what his exact mental condition is right now and don’t want to be responsible for driving him to any foolish acts of desperation once he realizes the noose is tightening around him. Let’s not forget he’s a 70-year-old who has spent his entire life since adolescence blaming and cultivating a grudge in what must by now have grown into an enormous inferiority-complex to the point of obsessively fantasizing on the imminent “eradication” of millions of people off the face of the earth, or something..

Anyway, I’m still waiting to hear how the FBI espionage case against his mother ended and whether she served any time for it. According to my source, it was when she worked on a secret missile program under Wernher von Braun in Alabama… She may have been a Zionist who wanted to help Israel while taking revenge on von Braun for the Holocaust, and ended up alienating her son forever after she’d discovered and reprimanded him for being gay in the 1950s. I’ll keep you posted as I find out more.

            • James Wherry

If you have his name, you have my email address, now.

I have access to the same “People Search” search engines he claims his wife has access to. If you can provide me his name, I can provide you the same background check.

If you fear that deranged loon, I can refrain from using it. He does not have my current address, but he would find that everyone on my block packs heat.

              Georgia and all that.

            • tapatio

Oh, WOW, HEEB!!! You haven’t posted ONE thing that I haven’t posted on this site. Why don’t you come try to find me out of the almost 24,000 people on the island. Better yet, send your BFF, Nancy-James. Did you self-chosen clowns actually think you could intimidate me?

              • Norm

Consider how many of those 24,000 have goats in their yard….

            • James Wherry

Well, he claims his “wife” used her connections to access a legal search engine at her old DA office in Washington State. That’s an illegal use of government resources AND it helped her husband to gain access to addresses that he tried to use against me to make death threats.

Shoot me HER name and I’ll look her up and hit up her old DA office to find out why they did this, and if they know what’s going on.

I’m afraid that Disqus cared very little for “tapatio’s” hate-filled, neo-NAZ!, Jew-hating, Gay-bashing views, but they did make him take down the addresses – but not before I got screenshots of them and the death threat that THEY agreed he’d done.

              • Norm

It’s sad that Disqus, as well as Facebook and others, refuse to follow through on their professed TOS: https://help.disqus.com/customer/portal/articles/2285753 These supposedly-neutral platforms are highly politically biased. See: https://www.therebel.media/group_creates_fake_anti_israel_and_anti_palestine_facebook_pages_only_one_page_was_removed_from_facebook

But again, as a matter of principle, at this point in time I prefer not to be the one through whom tapatio is doxed, in any way, shape, or form. I’m a firm believer in free speech and the free marketplace of ideas, and I don’t want to see the net become weaponized to ruin people’s lives just because of their views. Also, I don’t want my ex-FBI source to be exposed in any way, as this was his condition on which I gave my word. This may change if I see any indication that tapatio is involved in a criminal and/or terrorist activity, but even then I’d probably first go through the proper channels of informing law enforcement authorities and let them deal with Disqus and tapatio’s ISP.

Note also that doxing is irreversible, and, given the new info about tapatio, I’m now starting to see him more as a victim of his unfortunate life circumstances as a kid, rather than a cold-blooded loathsome hate-monger. Perhaps unbeknownst to him, after his mother’s spying incident his family was put on a permanent blacklist. According to my source, this is partly why he was never promoted in his academic career and couldn’t obtain the tenure for which he yearned for more than three decades, up until very close to his retirement. After his domineering mother has – as he perceives it – completely ruined his life when he was adolescent, he has had to live his entire adult life with another domineering woman: his authoritarian wife who decides everything for him. He’s now 70, and having left zero mark on his research field of Anthropology all he has left is his all-consuming childhood grievances which he’s forced to constantly refuel by blogging anti-America/anti-Israel/anti-Jews obscenities, and the few goats that he raises in his small yard.

        • tapatio

Poor stupid yid. A JEW co-worker of my mother’s stole missile technology from the country that gave the little Heeb citizenship. The Jew pig ran away to Pissrael.

        • James Wherry

So, an admission that you were spot on.
