Mr. Family Values Bill O’Reilly Loses Custody of Kids After Allegedly Beating their Mother

Bill O'ReillyAs a self-proclaimed “one-percenter” who spent his career chastising delinquent fathers, Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly recently lost custody of his children after a New York appeals court ruled that his kids no longer want to live with him and should reside exclusively with their mother. According to court records, O’Reilly’s daughter witnessed him abusing her mother by grabbing her neck and dragging her down the stairs in a fit of rage.

On November 2, 1996, Bill O’Reilly married Maureen McPhilmy and together they had two children, Madeline and Spencer. The couple separated in 2010 and finalized their divorce a year later. They initially agreed to share custody of their children, but McPhilmy returned to court in February 2012 seeking full custody of her children after O’Reilly violated conditions of the agreement.

Last year, a Nassau County Supreme Court justice granted McPhilmy full custody of her children, but O’Reilly appealed the decision. McPhilmy decided to fight for full custody after discovering that O’Reilly had hired an independent child therapist named Lynne Kulakowski to perform virtually all of his parental duties. According to court transcripts, O’Reilly’s daughter viewed him as an absentee parent who wasn’t interested in raising her and struggled to control his rage, which she found “scary.”

In May 2015, Gawker reported that a court-appointed forensic examiner testified at a closed hearing about an incident that O’Reilly’s daughter, Madeline, claimed to have witnessed. Roughly a year before her parent’s separation, Madeline reportedly saw her father grab her mother by the throat and drag her down a staircase while tightly gripping her neck. Madeline was nine years old at the time and believes her father did not know she was watching.

While O’Reilly and McPhilmy were still married in 2004, former Fox producer Andrea Mackris filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against O’Reilly. Accused of threatening Mackris, bragging about attending a sex show in Thailand, and insisting that Mackris masturbate over the phone with a vibrator, O’Reilly settled with Mackris for an undisclosed amount on October 28, 2004.

After O’Reilly and McPhilmy separated in 2010, McPhilmy began dating a Nassau County Police detective named Jeffrey Gross. In a fit of jealousy, O’Reilly used his influence at the Nassau County Police Department to initiate an internal affairs investigation into Gross. After finalizing their divorce in September 2011, O’Reilly attempted to formally annul their marriage and have McPhilmy excommunicated from the Roman Catholic Church.

On his own website, O’Reilly stated, “It was never easy being a father. Did you know that American icon Davy Crockett abandoned his children? And many other famous men did as well. Shameful. You can’t be a real man if you don’t look out for your kids. They need you.”

Like a true hypocrite, O’Reilly berated black communities for raising fatherless children when in reality, his own children saw him as an absent and abusive father. Propaganda works both ways: those evil enough to spew bullshit and those stupid enough to chew it up in heaping mouthfuls.

Although O’Reilly has repeatedly been exposed for his blatant hypocrisy, his audience will once again turn a blind eye to his moral transgressions, without even a hint of remorse or repentance.

Tried & Convicted in the media! Amazing what the left will do to smear you. Harassment was what? inappropriate what? Touch? grope? sexual battery? rape? What was the actual circumstance that caused these women to pile on after so many years of allegedly being abused by him? Maybe I missed it but Harass covers a wide spectrum of charges. So what did he actually do to these women that was harassment? I must have missed the specifics like with cosby who supposedly drugged them and fondled them, what did Bill do? specifically?

Clearly BR is not a true Christian. Don’t let one man’s hypocrisy keep you from getting to know the real Jesus. He is not a myth. Don’t be deceived into ignoring his love.

It sounds like Ms McPhilmy and her children escaped from this weak, dangerous ‘man’ in the nick of time.

If you know someone who is experiencing spousal or parental abuse, don’t look the other way. Lives very often depend on it.

In my experience with people divorcing you should believe little of what they say of each other. The children pay the heavy price for it. It does seem odd she took up with someone else so soon. That’s just speculation by me.

I don’t know what happened as you see this sometimes when a couple gets divorced & he is arrogant but he hasn’t abandoned his kids as he wanted custody of the kids & he does spend time with them. He has even mentioned attending concerts with his kids on the show. Whatever you think about him, he isn’t a negligent father.

      • Buster Baloney

Can you read? NO allegations of negligence. His alleged conduct is ABUSE!

        • Sharon E. Young

          she wants him

O’Reilly this great Roman Catholic saint who lifts up the children abandoned by their parents, etc. etc. etc.
The man is so full of himself, not unlike his buddy Trump which he pumps up as well. The arrogance of someone in his position telling everyone else how to live. O’Reilly take the beam out of your own eye before you start chastising the world. Your narscicism, arrogance and hypocrisy are staring you in the face. This is a man who touts his show with such high ratings, always right no matter what anyone else says. This is a man who is what 6ft 5in. tall, and man who throws his weight around by dragging a woman down a flight of stairs by the neck.
We stopped watching O’Reilly for about a year mainly because he could never get it right when talking about Obama. He couldn’t see that Obama was destroying this country deliberately. What do you think now O’Reilly?
What you think really doesn’t matter to us, we lost respect for you long before this item in the news.

Nothing like believing a left-leaning story that leaves out some critical pieces of information. You know nothing about Long Island, do you?

McPhilmy started seeing Gross while still married to O’Reilly. For whatever reason, she didn’t think he’d find out and tried having Gross take steps to keep that from happening. Detective Gross had some fellow cops keep tabs on O’Reilly on the “QT.” but the two letters became separated and O’Reilly found out what was going on. The internal affairs investigation was relevant to the “tabs” on O’Reilly on taxpayer dime. O’Reilly was told by police officer friends of how Gross referred to him as a “Mick,” and easily gained the cooperation of other Jewish cops.

As for the allegations by a then nine year old, that is between the child and her mother as to whether or not this really happened, or McPhilmy put the child up to making these accusations, capitalizing upon her dissatisfaction with a “Nanny McPhee” situation, which is really quite commonplace in families with high earning media/entertainment personalities.

As for “rage,” while I can understand how a child would become fearful seeing their parent react to the knowledge of the humiliating type of infidelity they were subjected to by their spouse, children are likely to overly-characterize any heightened loss of temper by a parent as “rage”, instead of understandable anger.

Who is “us”? You certainly don’t speak for ME. Unlike you, I don’t judge others unless I’ve gone a mile in their shoes, and I don’t jump to conclusions without knowing the full story. McPhilmy gets more money having physical custody of the kids than she does being the non-custodial parent. If O’Reilly was mis-characterized in court, I hope one day his daughter lives to regret what she did to her father.

        • seresmary

No actually it’s between the parties and the court and the judge… no excuse for grabbing a woman in any circumstances other than to protect yourself which considering mr. oreilly’s built that would seem highly unlikely.

        • Robin Barnes Julian

You really need to wake up. No child is gonna lie for their mother, when they are frightened of their own father. She was scared of her own father. She told the truth, just like so many other children do, but they get ignored by people like you, idiots, that don’t think children have a brain and a voice. They don’t need to be around someone with his temper, and the court ruled as such. So crawl back under the so called Alpha male rock you live under and beat off to Roadhouse or something. You really are a piece of troglodyte work.

          • Big160

And just how many times, Robin, have YOU been involved with this type of court matter…or have you just read an article or two here or there, which you believe makes you an expert on the matter. Children will lie for whichever parent encourages them to do so more ardently, paying for the statements with “gifts” or other promises. A 9-year-old is especially easy to “bribe” to tell stories that are not completely true…and I’ve seen it many times in court proceedings, personally! At the end of the day, you can’t possibly know whether or not the child told the truth…nor can I. You believe it because you hate O’Reilly, NOT because it’s true! So really, please keep your “I hate ALL men mentality” to let loose with at your “I hate all men” get together!

            • spike

I am 78 and the child of divorced parents. What I know about me and my sibs – we said and/or agreed with whatever we thought the parent speaking wanted us to say. That isn’t just in divorce – children often, if not, in fact, usually, tell adults what they think an adult wants to hear, especially if they are very insecure in the situation!! I actually try to imagine the mechanics of anyone putting their hands around someone’s neck and in that way dragging them downstairs! And I know absolutely that young children often misunderstand what is being said or done in volatile situations and years later are telling something that just wasn’t meant or done the way they think they remember. The best (only “good”) parent is the one who does not bring their children into the argument in any way and never talks negatively about the other parent – and there are very, very few of those parents out there. Sad

              • Big160

My reply was to Robin, whose anti-man rant has absolutely NO basis in fact.

            • Teresa Jackson

YOUR wrong.the way i see it…the kids are 0% safe with mom for sure and at least questionable safety with dad.so if judge places kids with mom, right or wrong…the kids will be safe.if they are placed with dad then safety is at best 50/50.i for one couldnt be responsible for placing children in a home with a father/other half that very possibly could hurt or cause more harm to the children.i coulnt nor wouldnt take that chance.sorry!!! Ask kids and really listen to them and what they have to say.yes…i am a divorcee with kids

          • Teresa Jackson

            Please

        • Bob Nelson

You “don’t judge others”, but you excuse O’Reilly and paint McPhilmy as a money hungry liar who is unfairly attacking Billo? Really?
