Despite Campaign Promises, Trump Set To Outdo Obama On Military Adventurism

Since his inauguration, Donald Trump has sent American troops into a number of military adventures and his administration is looking to promote even greater military interventionism around the world.

WASHINGTON — For some, Donald Trump’s campaign trail claim that he had always been against the Iraq war – a claim that he would also use as a jibe aimed at Hillary Clinton – seemed to signal that he would refrain from sending the United States spiraling into another armed conflict.

“I’m the only one on this stage that said, ‘Do not go into Iraq, do not attack Iraq.’ Nobody else on this stage said that. And I said it loud and strong,” he said in February 2016 during one of several Republican debates. Months later, in June, Trump would use this argument to blame Hillary Clinton for the rise of ISIS.

“It all started with her bad judgment in supporting the war in Iraq in the first place. Though I was not in government service, I was among the earliest to criticize the rush to war, and yes, even before the war ever started,” he claimed.

The only problem? Trump was no dove prior to or after the invasion and occupation of Iraq. And since the destruction of Iraq – and his inauguration – Trump has sent the U.S. into a number of military conflicts and his administration is looking to promote even greater military interventionism in a region already steeped in violence.

When asked about Trump attitudes toward war, MIT professor and renowned linguist and political analyst Noam Chomsky told MintPress News that the idea that he was an anti-war candidate “was based on his criticisms of the Iraq and Libya attacks (which, contrary to his lies, he supported) and his ambiguous statements about reducing tensions with Russia – a good thing, if he meant it. But his actual policies are extremely dangerous.”

“[This includes] the sharp increase in the military budget, the weakening of restrictions on drone strikes, and the wild charges about Iran,” Chomsky said, adding that what really worries those who pay attention to these issues “is his megalomania and unpredictability…we know how someone who goes berserk over minor slights might react in a moment of crisis.”

Despite what some have claimed, Trump has never given a “loud and strong” argument against invading Iraq. According to a report from PolitiFact, during an interview with Howard Stern in 2002, Trump was asked whether or not he supported the U.S. invasion, to which he responded “Yeah, I guess so. I wish the first time it was done correctly.” In his 2000 book, The America We Deserve, he wrote:

“We still don’t know what Iraq is up to or whether it has the material to build nuclear weapons…if we decide a strike against Iraq is necessary, it is madness not to carry the mission to its conclusion. When we don’t, we have the worst of all worlds: Iraq remains a threat, and now has more incentive than ever to attack us.”

There’s no evidence of genuine opposition on Trump’s part regarding the invasion and occupation of Iraq. His few mealy-mouthed anti-war statements are meaningless in light of what he has said previously. And now, with the U.S. military under his command, Trump has already begun exercising armed force and is actively suggesting that his administration will engage in further military action, including putting more troops on the ground in Syria to combat ISIS.

According a report from the Washington Post, marines that have already been deployed there are establishing an outpost in Raqqa so they can fire on ISIS combatants. The report argues that the deployment “marks a new escalation in the U.S. war in Syria and puts more conventional U.S. troops in the battle.” The marines will soon be accompanied by special operations troops and attack helicopters.

Syria is certainly not the only country that will suffer from more U.S.-sanctioned violence. Nearly 19 million people in Yemen are now in need of aid, with more than seven million “not knowing where their next meal will come from,” according to the United Nations. Despite the UN having described Yemen as being “on the brink of famine,” the Trump administration has not been afraid to inflict further harm on the country’s vulnerable population. As millions of Yemenis are on death’s door, the U.S. government is escalating a horrific war in Yemen.

On March 3, the U.S. launched a second round of airstrikes that government officials alleged was part of a larger campaign meant “to roll back territorial gains [an Al Qaeda affiliated group] has made in the past two years.”

The U.S. launched over 30 strikes against alleged combatants and their safehouses between March 2 and 3. This escalation came only a few months after the notorious January raid during which at least two dozen civilians, including 10 children, were reported to have been killed. The media’s pointed focus on the commando raid came after it was revealed that a member of the Navy’s SEAL Team 6 was also killed.

The Trump administration has also been escalating tensions with Iran, a country that has faced tremendous pressure from previous administrations for its use of nuclear energy. After ballistic missile tests in February, former national security adviser Michael T. Flynn officially “put Iran on notice.” Donald Trump would later threaten Iran via Twitter: “Iran is playing with fire—they don’t appreciate how ‘kind’ President Obama was to them. Not me!”.

In February, James Mattis, who is currently serving as the U.S. Secretary of Defense, described Iran as being “the single biggest state sponsor of terrorism in the world.” Mattis has held an obsessive hatred towards Iran for decades, with Politico author Mark Perry describing him as having an “anti-Iran animus [that] is so intense that it led President Barack Obama to replace him as Centcom commander.”

Douglas Williams, a contributor for The Guardian and PhD student in political science at Wayne State University, told MintPress News that Trump never genuinely campaigned on being anti-war “aside from a brief moment after he clinched the Republican nomination for president.”

Williams argues, “he always beat that drum about ISIS, and then there was the talk of the ban on Muslims entering the United States.” That said, Williams believes that the anti-war movement has a chance of beating Trump “if they play the ball and not the man.” This would mean responding to Trump’s militarism by “connecting the already-outsized military budget to the things that they care about — health care and the economy.”

There is a demonstrable and significant difference between what Trump says and what his administration actually does. It is clear that his alleged anti-war sentiment is entirely imagined.

The only good news here is that the US is running out of proxies and now must deploy its own troops. How are Americans going to react when their boys start coming home under stars and stripes again.

      • James Wherry

Dunno: how did they react, when ISIL gang raped and murdered all non-Muslims?

I guess freedom is not free, eh?

        • Bill Rood

The point is that ISIL was and is a proxy army of the US and its ally, Saudi Arabia. No, freedom is not free. ISIL’s victims have paid in full, including many Muslims who were killed for disagreeing with them. Now, empire will no longer be free, either.

          • James Wherry

ISIL was not and is not a proxy Army of the U.S., Bill. We are busy trying to destroy them. You’ve been sold a line of propaganda that is contrary to the facts and which I have no reason to believe. Why would we want to blow up our own imaginary ISIL “allies?”

Why would we want to blow up our own imaginary ISIL “allies?”

Because they have increasingly become an embarrassment, and because Russian bombing of them has been very effective (and also therefore embarrassing), eg the destruction of their oil tanker fleet that the US refused to bomb for years. And because the US is in a race to capture Raqqa before the SAA can get there, in order to create a bargaining chip at peace negotiations so the US can try to partition Syria. The US does not hesitate to stab its allies or proxies in the back.

The original plan was to use al-Qaeda and ISIS terrorists to destroy the existing government of Syria. Once that work was done, the plan was to marginalize the terrorists and Balkanize Syria into an Alawi-Christian coastal area, a Druze area in the south, Kurdistan in the north and a Sunnistan in the central area. Just because they were/are a proxy army for the US doesn’t mean the US didn’t always plan to marginalize (betray) them. They are useful, expendable idiots indoctrinated by Saudi Wahhabis and supported by Israel while they are useful. Here’s an old (2013) report from al-Jazeera describing how the CIA/KSA were arming al-Qaeda/ISIS via the FSA:

Here’s a direct quote from the commander being interviewed:

Anyhow we are buying weapons from the FSA. we bought 200 anti-aircraft missiles and Koncourse anti tank weapons. We have good relations with our brothers in the FSA.

Are you going to tell me the CIA is so stupid it didn’t know this was going on when even a reporter could figure it out?

              • James Wherry

Bill, your comment is an OPINION and not a fact. Here’s why I don’t share your opinion:

                1. we started bombing ISIL in 2012, shortly after they came into existence and went into Iraq. In short, there was never a time when we supported ISIL for it to BECOME an embarrassment.

                2. Russia has done NO bombing in Iraq where they have fallen, and it is not doing ANYTHING effective in or near the ISIL capital of Raqqa – where we have been bombing and our rebel allies are preparing to destroy them.

          • tapatio

“”I’m very happy about it,” James Wherry said. “Marriage is the bedrock of our society. I hope that same-sex couples can rejuvenate and revitalize marriage and give it the respect it is due.””
(It is reeeeally STUPID to use your own name and photo when blogging and bragging about the “illustrious” of the Jews’ state)

          • James Wherry

Bill, I have no reason to believe that ISIL is the “proxy Army” of the United States. We have spent the past 6 years bombing it to pieces and now it is being driven out of Iraq by the Iraqi Army with our help, and it is being surrounded and cut off by other Syrian rebels with our help and full support.

If Assad had not funded and supported Sun’ni terrorists operating out of Iraq from 2004-2011, he would not have had a ready-made Jihadist army at his doorsteps.

“The greatest prerequisite in the war against ISIS (and AQ, Boko Haram, etc) is the recognition of EXACTLY who benefits from those terrorist organizations………..QUI BONO is the first question that MUST be asked in every criminal investigation.” So, let’s do this thing:

            1. IRAN supported ISIL’s fore-runner, AQI leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi to murder U.S. Americans Soldiers that TAPATIO HATES.

“Iran long provided shelter and protection to the founder and former commander of al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI), the predecessor to Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL or ISIS), which rose to power due in large part to Tehran’s support, according to multiple intelligence reports and outside experts.

            See also: “

            “What ISIS Owes Iran.”

            2. SYRIA: Assad buys oil from ISIS and attacks ISIS’ enemies, instead of attacking ISIS. Assad helped violent extremist enter Iraq through Syria to murder our Soldiers – that TAPATIO also hates.

“Syria: Isis advance on Aleppo aided by Assad regime air strikes, US says”

            SYRIA helped create ISIL.

            Syria is DIRECTLY supporting ISIL.

            • Bill Rood

IRAN supported ISIL’s fore-runner, AQI leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi to murder U.S. Americans Soldiers.

If you believe that nonsense, there’s no reasoning with you. You cite neocon websites that use circumstantial evidence to allege operational connections between the Iranian government and al-Qaeda prior to the war in Iraq, but no hard evidence. Well, the CIA had admitted relations with and sponsored bin-Laden and other al-Qaeda operatives until at least Gulf War I. That doesn’t mean either Iran or the CIA supported al-Qaeda, much less Zarqawi, during Gulf War II. In addition, Zarqawi had an on again, off again relationship with al-Qaeda, mostly off again during the occupation. Nor do your sources demonstrate Iranian support for Zarqawi’s operations in Iraq. Rather, they assume that because he was present in Iran before the war, Iran was aware of and approved what he was doing in Iraq. The truth is Zarqawi was as interested in bombing Shia mosques and attacking Shia pilgrims as he was killing US soldiers. Your sources provide no documentation of such ongoing support. I recall the US allegations that Iran was providing shaped charges for IEDs, but shaped charges are not that difficult to create once you understand the design. The Baader-Meinhof gang in Germany assassinated a Deutsche Bank executive with a home-made shaped charge decades before Gulf War II. The truth is all Iraqi IEDs were created in Iraqi shops under the nose of the occupation, because the resistance was able to “move amongst the people as a fish swims in the sea.”

No need to address the rest of your drivel.

We’re very, very far from the Vietnam days, when Americans generally swallowed Washington’s BS. Today they know that they are servants of the Corporate States of Amerika. Trump may just be buying himself a civil war.

    • v. jabotinsky

      Heck, they all lie.

    • Rommell43

Many people voted for Trump thinking he would not get us into a major war with something like Hillary’s “no-fly zones”. Guess what? Feels like a knife in the back.

      • tapatio

What else did you expect. Trump is a corporate wh0re. His bread is now buttered by the war industry.

      • James Wherry

The “no fly zones” have now been advocated by Trump. I don’t support any military occupation of Syria by the USA, but they are a pipe dream, anyway: we have no right to be there, once the fighting with ISIL is done. ISIL is a threat to the USA, Syria is not.

    • Frumious

Geeze, look at him in that getup and the look on his face. Dumb as a stump, just a facade of the criminal underlord empire. How many more years of this america? Before you wake up to the bullcrap emotional manipulation/distraction of your mind into the left/right illusion, and take action !!??

Yet Hillary would have outdone Trump. We did not have a real peace candidate, just war or more war.

I really hope Trump could stop involve and hire neocons to his foreign policy team, I sense he has a great interest in de-escalation with Russia, Syria, Israel/Palestine but his team is destroying his cause with weird and not-helpful comments on these nations every now and then.

    • James Wherry

I agree with the concern, but this article is unsupported and unconvincing.

      1. Syria. We were already destroying ISIL. Since Russia and Syria won’t take Raqqa, we will. There’s no point to drive them out of Iraq to permit them to regroup. It WOULD Be a broken campaign promise, if we remained in Syria, after ISIL was destroyed, and then set our sights on Damascus – without any lawful authority to do so.

      2. Yemen. We are going after al-Quaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) as we have done for years. Those opposing this move can explain why they defend al-Quaead. I do not.

Annnnnnnnddddddddddddddd? Not much else. Iran is escalating tensions, threatening our own navy. I can’t blame President Trump for that.

      • Daniel McAdams

The US is not “going after” al-Qaeda in Yemen. Washington is backing up Saudi Arabia which is working to al-Qaeda’s advantage in Yemen. Here’s something from a hardly non-interventionist publication detailing this:

        • James Wherry

Why can’t the U.S. be doing both? Our primary mission with respect to the Houthi’s has been to provide satellite INTEL and prevent the Iranians from getting involved in the war by interdicting the illegal shipment of weapons to these non-government rebels.

As to the drones, I’m sorry, if you do not think we are hitting AQAP, but we simply are.

You’re nothing more than a hasbara troll, James Wherry. The other posters on this thread have called you out, me included.
Iran has NOT attacked her neighbors in over 400 years, boobus, but the same cannot be said of Israel, the US and NATO (North Atlantic Terrorist Organization). And, don’t even bother to say Israel’s actions are only in self-defense; because, all sensible people say otherwise, that Israel’s been the aggressor.
Ever hear of the USS Liberty? Guess not. Well, during the Six-Day War in June of 1967, while in International waters monitoring the situation, the Intelligence ship was suddenly attacked by both IDF jets and speedboats, killing 34 crewmen and injuring 170+ others. How do you explain that? You can’t do it; simply, because you’ve been brainwashed for way too long. However, this doesn’t change the fact that the deliberate attack by the IDF on the USS Liberty in June, 1967 actually happened.

            • James Wherry

The “other posters on this thread” include the neo-NAZ! “tapatio” who hates Jews, Gays and anyone who disagrees with him. Loverly.

As to Iran, let’s start with your own ignorant ideas. Iran has not attacked any neighbor in 400 years? I assume you were not including the slaughter of the Christian monks by the Persians, when they refused to convert to Islam?

Yes, the USA did attack Bosnia and then Kosovo to stop the genocide of Muslims. You’re welcome. Yes, the IDF has defended Israel – from the illegal, invading Arab armies. In 1948, Israel declared independence – and the Arab Muslims declared war and have never stopped. Blame the Muslims.

The U.S.S. Liberty? Yes: the Israelis NOTIFIED THE USA that they hit a US ship by accident, apologized and paid reparations. The Iranians have NEVER apologized for murdering our Marines in Beirut or Col. William F. Higgins or paid any reparations. All they did was to erect a monument GLORIFYING their murder of those individuals. Note the difference.

In light of your hatred of U.S. service members and our service overseas, it’s clear your only reason for raising the U.S.S. Liberty is to cast aspirations on Israel and promote a hatred of Israel. Your fellow traveler, “tapatio” has already made it clear that Israel is just an impediment to his ultimate goal – to have all Jews murdered.

              Good. . . .

Your eyes are sown shut. And Im telling you as one who is NOT a liberal, nor a man who is part of the pack of hyenas who have been trying to mount a coup against Donald Trump even before he became president. But facts are facts. US administrations—since Carter on down, accelerating with Bush and Obama CREATED ISIS, al-Qaeda, etc, to serve as proxies in our imperial interventions in the Middle East. This has been demonstrated by numerous honest witnesses. Do you really think that if the US, with all its might, wanted to wipe out ISIS it would not have done so long ago? The whipped up terrorist “threat” serves the purposes of the ruling class of the US, the 0.00001% comprised of multibillionaires, a class Trump is a member of, as are many on his Cabinet. He will do NOTHING for us, the ordinary, working stiffs of America. Your defense of this man is misplaced. Get ready to fight the SYSTEM of capitalism that screws everyone here and around the globe, and which needs constant wars to maintain its power and profits at the expense of countless victims.

        • James Wherry

We have done nothing to create ISIL. Al-Quaeda and its ilk already existed before 9/11 and before the invasion of Iraq.

However, while I am a military isolationist, Article 51 of the U.N. Charter – a treaty we also signed – recognizes the U.S.’ inherent right of self-defense. Assad is no threat to the USA, but he invited ISIL and the Sun’ni terrorists to his country from 2004-2011 and made Syria the “Gateway to the East” to wage jihad on U.S. Soldiers in Iraq. Syria provided communications, logistics and support to those jihadists so that when we left Iraq in 2011, the newly unemployed jihadists FOUND WORK – in Syria.

Since 2011, ISIL has declared war on the USA and sought to plan, direct and execute it. The government of Syria has NO lawful right to create a safe haven for America’s enemies, or they’ve committed an act of war – aiding and abetting a war on the USA. If, however, they finally want to destroy ISIL, then they appear unable or incompetent to stop their own monster and America is NOT obligated to sit idlely by and “just roll over and die.”

Take a piece of advice that the Left often gives to the U.S. and recognize that Syria and Iran are getting their own form of BLOWBACK that they so RICHLY deserve!

Fake quote used to promote the idea that Einstein – a Jew – hated Jews or Judaism, or justified the Holocaust that his former Germany had just been through. Here’s what he REALLY said about anti-Semitism:

“The scientific organization and comprehensive exposition in accessible form of the Talmud has a twofold importance for us Jews. It is important in the first place that the high cultural values of the Talmud should not be lost to modern minds among the Jewish people nor to science, but should operate further as a living force. In the second place, The Talmud must be made an open book to the world, in order to cut the ground from under certain malevolent attacks, of anti-Semitic origin, which borrow countenance from the obscurity and inaccessibility of certain passages in the Talmud.

“To support this cultural work would thus mean an important achievement for the Jewish people.”

From a letter by Albert Einstein to Professor Chaim Tchernowitz (31 December 1930) of the Jewish Institute of Religion in New York (Hebrew Union College). Jewish Telegraphic Agency (Jewish Daily Bulletin)

The entire statement by Einstein is below…………………

“Anti-Semitism is nothing but the antagonistic attitude produced in the non-Jew by the Jewish group. This is a normal social reaction. The Jewish group has thrived on oppression and on the antagonism it has forever met in the world… the root cause is their use of enemies they create in order to keep solidarity.”

                        Letters to the Editor
                        New York Times
                        December 4, 1948

TO THE EDITORS OF THE NEW YORK TIMES:

Among the most disturbing political phenomena of our times is the emergence in the newly created state of Israel of the “Freedom Party” (Tnuat Haherut), a political party closely akin in its organization, methods, political philosophy and social appeal to the Naz! and Fascist parties. It was formed out of the membership and following of the former Irgun Zvai Leumi, a terrorist, right-wing, chauvinist organization in Palestine.

The current visit of Menachem Begin, leader of this party, to the United States is obviously calculated to give the impression of American support for his party in the coming Israeli elections, and to cement political ties with conservative Zionist elements in the United States. Several Americans of national repute have lent their names to welcome his visit. It is inconceivable that those who oppose fascism throughout the world, if correctly informed as to Mr. Begin’s political record and perspectives, could add their names and support to the movement he represents.

Before irreparable damage is done by way of financial contributions, public manifestations in Begin’s behalf, and the creation in Palestine of the impression that a large segment of America supports Fascist elements in Israel, the American public must be informed as to the record and objectives of Mr. Begin and his movement. The public avowals of Begin’s party are no guide whatever to its actual character. Today they speak of freedom, democracy and anti-imperialism, whereas until recently they openly preached the doctrine of the Fascist state. It is in its actions that the terrorist party betrays its real character; from its past actions we can judge what it may be expected to do in the future.

                        Attack on Arab Village

A shocking example was their behavior in the Arab village of Deir Yassin. This village, off the main roads and surrounded by Jewish lands, had taken no part in the war, and had even fought off Arab bands who wanted to use the village as their base. On April 9 (THE NEW YORK TIMES), terrorist bands attacked this peaceful village, which was not a military objective in the fighting, killed most of its inhabitants ? 240men, women, and children – and kept a few of them alive to parade as captives through the streets of Jerusalem. Most of the Jewish community was horrified at the deed, and the Jewish Agency sent a telegram of apology to King Abdullah of Trans-Jordan. But the terrorists, far from being ashamed of their act, were proud of this massacre, publicized it widely, and invited all the foreign correspondents present in the country to view the heaped corpses and the general havoc at Deir Yassin. The Deir Yassin incident exemplifies the character and actions of the Freedom Party.

Within the Jewish community they have preached an admixture of ultranationalism, religious mysticism, and racial superiority. Like other Fascist parties they have been used to break strikes, and have themselves pressed for the destruction of free trade unions. In their stead they have proposed corporate unions on the Italian Fascist model. During the last years of sporadic anti-British violence, the IZL and Stern groups inaugurated a reign of terror in the Palestine Jewish community. Teachers were beaten up for speaking against them, adults were shot for not letting their children join them. By gangster methods, beatings, window-smashing, and wide-spread robberies, the terrorists intimidated the population and exacted a heavy tribute.

The people of the Freedom Party have had no part in the constructive achievements in Palestine. They have reclaimed no land, built no settlements, and only detracted from the Jewish defense activity. Their much-publicized immigration endeavors were minute, and devoted mainly to bringing in Fascist compatriots.

                        Discrepancies Seen

The discrepancies between the bold claims now being made by Begin and his party, and their record of past performance in Palestine bear the imprint of no ordinary political party. This is the unmistakable stamp of a Fascist party for whom terrorism (against Jews, Arabs, and British alike), and misrepresentation are means, and a “Leader State” is the goal.

In the light of the foregoing considerations, it is imperative that the truth about Mr. Begin and his movement be made known in this country. It is all the more tragic that the top leadership of American Zionism has refused to campaign against Begin’s efforts, or even to expose to its own constituents the dangers to Israel from support to Begin.

The undersigned therefore take this means of publicly presenting a few salient facts concerning Begin and his party; and of urging all concerned not to support this latest manifestation of fascism.

Your efforts to use Einstein to promote hatred of Jews do not work. Here’s one of many, many Zionist quotes that the smartest man alive made:

“I have read your article on Zionism and feel, as a strong devotee of the Zionist idea, that I must answer you… I realized that only a common enterprise dear to the heart of Jews all over the world could restore this people to health…It was the great achievement of Herzl’s to have realized and proclaimed… the establishment of a national home, or more accurately, a center in Palestine…

“All this you call nationalism… But a communal purpose, without which we can neither live nor die in this hostile world, can always be called by that ugly name. In any case it is a nationalism whose aim not power but dignity and health. If we didn’t have to live among intolerant, narrow minded and violent people, I would be the first to discard all nationalism in favor of a universal humanity”

Letter to Professor Hellpach, published in Mein Weltbild (The World as I See It), 1934

And, when I was young, unaware and reading Leon Uris, I thought that Judaism and Zionism were a wonderful adventure. THE EINSTEIN LETTER I POSTED IS DATED 1948 – AFTER HE HAD LEARNED THE TRUTH ABOUT ZIONISM.

                      • James Wherry

I agree that Judaism has been oppressed and there has been antagonism toward it, but you are trying to make this quote into an endorsement of your hatred of Jews and claim that they were the ones doing the oppressing and antagonizing. Typical fake quote.

Here: for your readers, let’s give them full instruction on how you manipulate facts to create lies:

People put great store in quotes and purported quotes, but these are often faked.

                        Fake Zionist Quotes

Scattered around the Web are numerous pages of “Zionist Quotes” that show Zionism as an evil, racist conspiracy. Many of the quotes are forgeries, hoaxes and inventions. The quotes were fabricated to discredit Israel, Zionism or Jews. not to inform or enlighten anyone. The intent of the doctored quotes may be to “prove” that “Zionism is Racism.” and that ‘Zionists’ planned the transfer of Arabs from Palestine from the start and to demonize Israeli, Zionists and Jews.

                        How Fake Quotes are Made

Fake quotes are manufactured in a number of ways:

Presenting fiction as fact – A satirical and fictional “interview” with an Israeli general was presented as a real interview of Ariel Sharon supposedly don by Amos Oz.

Confabulation – According to Benny Morris, Ben Gurion wrote to his son that “we must expel the Arabs.” These words could not be found in the Hebrew text of his letters, but apparently in an English version.

Quoting out of context – A portion of a speech or letter meant ironically or with an obviously innocent intent is quoted as standalone prose. For example, before the establishment of the state of Israel, David Ben Gurion gave a speech noting that Arabs would be nearly a majority in the new state unless the Zionists acted. Ben Gurion explained envisioned massive Jewish immigration. That part of his remarks is omitted so that the unsuspecting reader thinks that Ben Gurion was proposing “ethnic cleansing.”

Omitting key phrases – For example the phrase “We bought the lands from the Arabs” was omitted from a Moshe Dayan quote to make it seem like he admitted that Zionists had stolen all the land. How to Spot Fake Quotes

Sometimes fake quotes can be spotted because the language is particularly obnoxious, or because what are supposedly Hebrew names or place names have been distorted by someone who does not know the language. An Israeli statesman would not be likely to use racist or violent language in public and no Israeli would have a name like “Ouze.” “Quotes” of that type were concocted for a credulous Arab-speaking audience ad translated,

Crude hoaxes can sometimes be because they refer to persons who do not exist. There are no such people as General Ouze Merham or spokesperson Tziporah Menache.

Quotes that are given without an original source citation or with many ellipses are suspicious.

How to Deal with Fake Zionist Quotes

It is not possible to find the origins of every fake quote and hoax and should not be necessary. The burden of proof should be on those who propose the material, since new hoaxes can be fabricated much faster than they are refuted, but it is not so. It is ver time consuming and difficult to prove convincingly that a quote is a hoax.

Some real quotes may be quite obnoxious. You cannot be made to be responsible for every unfortunate utterance of every politician and should not try to defend every utterance.

Always demand to see the original document and quote, not somebody’s citation of the quote, part of the document or an inexact translation.

Search the Web with a phrase from the quote to see if someone has already debunked it or if it can be found in the original context. If the quote appears at known hate sites such as, jewwatch, zundelsite, stormfront, aryannation88, sodahead, electronic inifadah, miftah, or godlike productions, it is probably fake, especially if it cannot be found at respectable and balanced Web sites or other authoritative sources. Google translations are often good enough to verify quotes in languages you do not know.

The printed word, especially in an academic book, or article, has an awesome authority. The invented quote, with it non-existent journal citation, will be often be copied out of the purest motives and in total innocence.

                        Sample Fake Zionist Quotes

Not every fake quotation can be debunked. I present only a somewhat arbitrary sample of what appears to be the most popular hoaxes. Just because you cannot find a”Zionist quote” here does not mean it is legitimate.

                        Fake ‘Zionist’ – Tziporah Menache

                        [the article continues online]

                      • James Wherry

This quote is egregious because even the NAZ!s admit it is a fake. You can look for it at the Stormfront Web site, where it is also debunked.

There was was evidently no such person as “Tziporah Menache” in the role of Israeli spokesperson. She was not a spokesperson 2009.

“You know very well, and the stupid Americans know equally well, that we control their government, irrespective of who sits in the White House. You see, I know it and you know it that no American president can be in a position to challenge us even if we do the unthinkable. What can they (Americans) do to us? We control congress, we control the media, we control show biz, and we control everything in America. In America you can criticize God, but you can’t criticize Israel.” Israeli spokeswoman, Tzipora Menache 2009

The fabrication first appeared supposedly in a Pakistani Web site, but cannot be found there. It was de-bunked not by Zionists, but by anti-Semitic and anti Israel Web sites, apparently because the Web page contained a virus.

                        At we find:

After much careful research from many members of the ATS community it has been concluded without a doubt that this thread is a hoax. The quote itself came from a single source which has been shown to be fictional. Furthermore, careful research has shown that the only mention of the spokeswoman’s name, ever, is in articles relating to this supposed statement. In short, we are not even able to establish if the woman exists at all.

The Jews have not been “persecuted”. Host countries and cultures have grown sick of the Jewish god, MONEY, the constant Jewish PREDATORY financial behavior, the loan-sharking, the TREACHEROUS and CORRUPT Jewish political behaviors, the SNEAKING/UNDERHANDED VIOLENCE, the DEGENERACY of such a huge percentage of Jews.

For more than 3000 years, from their expulsion from Egypt and from the money changers that Jesus is said to have driven from the temple to the predatory global Rothschild banking cartel to the lowest loan shark in NY, to the Internet propaganda shill, the Jewish peddler of kiddie-porn, the IDF thug and Mossad scum and their rabbis preaching the delusion of a “chosen” master-race, this predatory cult posing as religion and ethnicity has most closely resembled a malignant cancer metastasizing through our world, corrupting and spoiling everything it touches.

When one or a few cultures find a single culture toxic, it could be bigotry.
When almost EVERY culture finds Judaism toxic, JUDAISM IS TOXIC .

Every expulsion of Jews below was preceded by widespread and extreme crime and abuses BY JEWS. The Jews have been expelled from more than 100 countries in the last 2000 years. Listed below are ONLY those expulsions that could be directly linked to RAMPANT JEWISH CRIME. They had NOTHING to do with “persecution” of Jews. However, often, innocent Jews suffered because of guilt by association with their predatory leadership.

Expulsions of Jews were acts of SELF-PRESERVATION by non-Jewish cultures.

Most of those Jews emigrated VOLUNTARILY and many were paid to immigrate to the Jew state. The expulsions of Jews from Arab states OCCURRED ONLY AFTER THE SLAUGHTER OF TENS OF THOUSANDS OF PALESTINIAN CHRISTIANS AND MUSLIMS BY JEW TERRORISTS AND THE EXPULSION OF ALMOST A MILLION INDIGENOUS PALESTINIANS BY THE EUROPEAN, CAUCASIAN JEW INVADERS (well documented by reports of the British troops in the Palestine Mandate).

Thanks: you’ve just proven what I said. You are a Jew-hating, gay-bashing neo-NAZ! bigot who JUSTIFIES a hatred of Judaism. You spit on the prophets of Judaism which are also the prophets of Islam, I might add – including King David who took Jerusalem and lifted the oppression of the Philistines off of the Jews.

Why is it that no Jews cite this man as authoritative? And how do these views compare to the Koran?

                • James Wherry

Gee. Isn’t this the same quote you posted an hour ago, below? “tapatio’s” efforts to promote hatred of Jews is becaue he wants all Jews dead. So how does this Rabbi compare?

And it never happened, “freewheel.” I do agree that Iran was allied with Syria and sponsored terrorism against the United States through Hezbollah and with the Sudan’s complicity.

                  1. Mummar gave up his chemical weapons and Bush left him alone – even while he was exporting his own Sun’ni jihadists off to Iraq to murder U.S. Soldiers. Where’s the “plot” to destroy Libya? It never happened.

                  2. Syria – Assad is still in charge.

                  3. The Sudan – same thing for the war criminal running the place.

                  4. Iran? Same thing for the religious nutjobs running the place.

                  5. Lebanon?!? We helped stabilize that nation. Hezbollah murdered our Marines and murdered Col. (USMC, ret.) William F. Higgins while he served as a U.N. Peace Observer.

                  6. Afghanistan’s Taliban government? Sure: they attacked us.

                  7. Iraq? Failed to comply with U.N. Security Council Resolutions.

Wanting to destroy our enemies and doing so are TWO different things.

Wake up from your slumber, James. First of all, Iran never supported ISIL’s fore-runner, AQI leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Iran’s a SHI’ITE Muslim nation, and as such, would NEVER support Wahabbi and/or Sunni Islam. From your post, you’re confused about the different sects of Islam. Sunnis and Shi’ites have fought each other for centuries, since the death of the Prophet Mohammed.
Before you continue wrongly linking Iran to Wahabbi Islam (which is practiced in Saudi Arabia), do some research on Islam.

I think it is a troll. So poor it had me laughing with all the BEX!

            • James Wherry

Iran supported any and all Sun’ni jihadists willing to die to murder U.S. Soldiers in Iraq. After all, dead Americans and dead Sun’ni jihadists – why wouldn’t Iran want that?

You’ve cited no evidence for your religious Faith in what you have posted. I cited authorities and sources.

WE created AlQaeda back in the 80’s to get the guns and fighters into Afghanistan and to get the heroin out.ISIS is a creation of the US/Saudi/Israeli/Turkey/Gulf States/Sunni Axis.
The US is in Syria illegally without permission from the Syrian government.Russia,Iran and Hezbollah do have permission from the Syrian government. The US has been caught repeatedly airdropping arms and ammo to ISIS and bombs on Syrian infrasructure.
