#DemocracySpring & #DemocracyAwakening: The People’s March On Washington

According to Eleanor Goldfied, #DemocracySpring and #DemocracyAwakening, last week’s mass mobilizations in Washington, D.C., were “an organized, strong, diverse and powerful call to the powers that be that We The People are rising. That we refuse to accept a government bought and sold.”

The latest episode of Act Out! devotes the entire half hour to this exciting action.

VIDEO: Act Out! Takes On Democracy Spring

Democracy Spring is a week long series of protests held April 11 to April 18 this year, but you wouldn’t know it from the mainstream media. The Intercept reported that cable news networks devoted just 30 seconds to the protests, despite over 400 arrests on Monday.

Fortunately, independent journalists were there to pick up the slack. Eleanor Goldfield of Act Out! On Occupy shared these videos from Democracy Spring’s first two days. In the second installment, Goldfield herself was among many activists arrested for justice.
