Two incorrectly drawn swastikas including the words “Go Trump” were found spray-painted on playground equipment in Brooklyn Heights last month.
Days later, on a Sunday morning, thousands of peaceful demonstrators opposed to vandals defacing Brooklyn’s Adam Yauch Park overwhelmed the playground, smiling, hand-clapping, and carrying placards with messages of peace and love.
City workers painted over the graffiti in the park, which had been renamed in 2013 after Beastie Boys’ founding member, Adam Yauch. Yauch died of cancer in 2012.
