Who, What, When, Where, & Why? An Iraq War Crime Report

April 25, 2016 By Cindy Sheehan for the Soapbox People’s Network Leave a Comment

Who: The U.S. War Machine: the diabolical Bush Regime at the controls

What: Imperial war for profit based on manufactured evidence and nationalist propaganda.

When: (This incarnation) March 2003 to present.

Where: Iraq

Why: Because the U.S. War Machine needs perpetual war for perpetual profit and to subjugate the people of the world and suck the life out of those in the U.S.

Every good crime report or newspaper article needs to answer these five questions, and this is a war crime report.

Why I Want To Shut Down Rikers Island

October 19, 2015 By Cindy Sheehan for the Soapbox People’s Network Leave a Comment

Before my son was killed in Iraq, I wouldn’t say that I “respected” or “feared” authority—that’s never been in my nature. However, looking back, I think I was terrified of crossing the proverbial line. Relating my rude awakening and experiences since then, I know that the line is drawn by the violent empire and arbitrarily re-drawn whenever it suits the needs of the police state.

After my son Casey was killed in a U.S. imperial war based on lies and waged for profit and I became an anti-empire activist, I have been arrested too many times to keep track.

I stopped counting at 20.

Besides the frustration of being “popped” for exercising my so-called constitutional rights, the many, many hours I have spent in jail have been ultra eye opening to me.

U.S. Imperialist War Is A Bi-Partisan Problem

September 11, 2015 By Cindy Sheehan for the Soapbox People’s Network 2 Comments

I believe that just as important as it is to study the great thinkers, revolutionaries, and philosophers of the past, we should use that information to inform our lives as we draw from our own past and experiences.

It took me awhile to look at the world and my past through a revolutionary, anti-Imperialist lens. When my son Casey Sheehan was first killed in Iraq in 2004, my eyes were clouded by a red-hot hatred of George Bush and the Republican Party that I believed had murdered my son.

I quickly learned though through much trial, heartbreak and profound disappointment that even though BushCo were a HUGE problem, it was not THE problem. Unfortunately, most of my comrades during the Bush regime years have not come to that same conclusion.
