Two police officers are being slapped with a long list of charges after being caught on video beating an innocent man. The charges range from aggravated assault, as well as simple assault, to conspiracy, recklessly endangering another person, tampering with public records or information, filing false reports, obstructing administration of law, and official oppression.
Officers Kevin Robinson and Sean McKnight were caught on video knocking a man off of his motor scooter, then beating him and trying to charge him – the victim – with assaulting them!

It all happened back on May 29th of 2013, and it has taken this long to see charges brought against the officers. District Attorney Seth Williams said that the charges are a result of a lengthy grand jury investigation.
He says that contrary to what the officers reported, what really happened was, Officers McKnight and Robinson pulled Najee Rivera over around 10 p.m., while he was driving his motor scooter.“Rivera became frightened,” Williams’ office said. He “drove away and was chased by the officers who broke procedure by not using their lights and sirens during the pursuit.
“…a business’ surveillance camera captured the officers drive up to Rivera and knock him off his scooter. Both officers then exited their police car, grabbed and repeatedly struck Rivera with their fists and baton while Rivera …cries out in pain.”
As a result of the brutal beating, Rivera suffered a fractured orbital bone as well as severe lacerations on his head. The charges against Rivera have been dropped after the surveillance video that captured the altercation exonerated him.
