MOSCOW  – During the inspection the Russian Ministry of Justice found out that the word ‘scientology’ had been registered as a trade mark owned by the US Religious Technology Center.

The court backed the Russian Justice Ministry’s claim that the organization’s activity did not comply with the federal law on freedom of religion.

“The representatives of the Church of Scientology have created many legal conflicts by themselves by restricting the religious freedom through the use of trade marks,” the Ministry of Justice said.

The Church was founded by American science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard in the 1950s, and has been the subject of controversy around the world.

The e-meter device used by the Church of Scientology purports to measure, among other things, the number of “body thetans” present in an individual, which are the souls of aliens brought to planet Earth 75 million years ago, according to Scientology doctrine.

Scientology, which reportedly has eight million members worldwide, is considered to be a religion in some countries.

      Russia–
      You had me a ban.
Now, go to work on the other idiot religions.

      Scientology is fiction.

or satire? If one placed it in a “comparative religion” course
and analyzed its components and mechanics, one would be
hard pressed to find any distinctions between it, and any
        other religion/metaphysical philosophy.

If you are interested in religious fiction, you might find the newly
        published “Under Tiberius” entertaining.

I think all religions are based on fiction.

Not a view that is “shared” by very many other members
of our species……..so one is tasked with the reasons for
the persistence, given the empirical understanding that
has been revealed. As a more recent iteration in the
            metaphysical realm……scientology becomes a useful
tool in examining other metaphysical philosophies……
and it would be interesting to see what “they” would
            cite as objectional……..in comparison.

It is a different kind of “fiction” which may help us understand
the need for a “fiction”…….and get past it?
